Ejabberd aws11/8/2023 ![]() Įjabberd can communicate with other XMPP servers and with non-XMPP instant messaging networks as well, using a special type of XMPP component called transport or gateway. Starting with version 2.0.0 ejabberd also includes support for the Proxy65 file transfer proxy which enabled Jabber/XMPP users behind firewalls to share files through a SOCKS 5 proxy. In addition, modules can provide support for extensions of the XMPP protocol, such as MUC, HTTP polling, Publish-Subscribe, and gathering statistics via XMPP. LDAP authentication is supported, as is login via SSL/TLS, SASL and STARTTLS.Įjabberd is extensible via modules, which can provide support for additional capabilities such as saving offline messages, connecting with IRC channels, or a user database which makes use of user's vCards (saving vCards in LDAP or an ODBC compatible database is possible with other modules). Database management systems supported include PostgreSQL and MySQL, and ODBC is supported for connectivity to other systems. ejabberd supports distributed computing by clustering, supports live upgrades, shared roster groups and provides support for virtual hosts. ![]() ![]() It provides a web interface which can be translated into other languages. Features Įjabberd has a high level of compliance with XMPP. Ejabberd hit version 1.0 in December 2005. Shchepin has stated that he would have not started ejabberd without Erlang. It was also announced that further development will be split into an "ejabberd Community Server" and an "ejabberd Commercial Edition targets carriers, websites, service providers, large corporations, universities, game companies, that need high level of commitment from ProcessOne, stability and performance and a unique set of features to run their business successfully." Project history Īlexey Shchepin started ejabberd in November 2002 for three main reasons: success with Tkabber (his previous project, an XMPP client), a rather unstable first alpha release of jabberd2, and his wish to play with Erlang features. With the next major release after version 2 (previously called ejabberd 3), the versioning scheme was changed to reflect release dates as "Year.Month-Revision" (starting with 13.04-beta1). As of 2009 ejabberd is the most popular server among smaller XMPP-powered sites that register on. Įjabberd has a number of notable deployments, IETF Groupchat Service, BBC Radio LiveText, Nokia's Ovi, KDE Talk and one in development at Facebook. The software's creator, Alexey Shchepin was awarded the Erlang User of the Year award at the 2006 Erlang user conference. XMPP: The Definitive Guide ( O'Reilly Media, 2009) praised ejabberd for its scalability and clustering feature, at the same time pointing out that being written in Erlang is a potential acceptance issue for users and contributors. As of 2009, it is one of the most popular open source applications written in Erlang. The name ejabberd stands for Erlang Jabber Daemon (Jabber being a former name for XMPP) and is written in lowercase only, as is common for daemon software.Įjabberd is free software, distributed under the terms of the GNU GPL-2.0-or-later. Additionally, ejabberd can run under Microsoft Windows. It can run under several Unix-like operating systems such as macOS, Linux, FreeBSD, NetBSD, OpenBSD and OpenSolaris. Led clock mini circular11/8/2023 We now move to the back of the clock base to cut pockets out for the quartz clock and the Wemos D1Īs with any new design there is always something that could have been carried out better with hindsight of course. We now create a profile cut using the same bit, we can cut the 8mm centre hole out and also cut the clock body out, add tabs, this will create tabs around the 8mm hole to, just delete these. The bit is a 6mm 2 flute flat bottomed router bit. To the cutting section: for the recess around the circle this needs to be 11mm the width of the LED strip, so a pocket is created as in the photo. Starting point will be the centre of the MDF.Ĭreate a circle 318.5mm and another circle in the centre 8mm then then another circle 430mm offset this to 6mm inwards to create a band. Set up will be for 15mm MDF and dimensions for the piece of MDF I am using is 500mm x 500mm ![]() ![]() The clock body needs to have a 318.5mm diameter inner circle, this will accommodate the LED strip, then we need a pocket of approx 50mm for digit illumination, this leaves a lip of 5mm around the perimeter of the clock body. I painted the dial with blackboard paint using a small foam roller. Lightly sand the piece to remove tabs etc, Rename, and save the g.code and cut out on the cnc machine. In the cutting section of Vetric, use the pocket tab for the digits and centre hole, depth is 6.3mm to cut right through the MDF, 3mm flat bottom 2 up cut router bitĬutting out the clock face we select the profile tab, depth is 6.2mm using the same bit lets us create a toolpath for both operations, select the Tab option and create tabs to hold in place. Text, choose a stencil font for the clock digits and once happy with the size create digits using the bitmap for guidance, I did this for all 12 digits and then deleted the original bitmap leaving us with the stencil digits.Ĭreate an 8mm hole in the centre of the piece, this is for the shaft of the quartz movement. We need to import a standard clock dial into our design, create a trace bitmap and delete the background, then highlight, combine and size to our 430mm clock face.įor the second holes create one hole 5mm and use the circular array tab and create another 59 around the perimeter. When working with MDF or with any wood, it is crucial to wear a dust mask rated for that purpose.īearing in mind that we need a circumference of 318.5mm to accommodate the LED's around the circle or face the clock face needs to be big enough for the digits to be lit up with the corresponding time.Ī diameter of 430mm was decided upon and with a depth of 6mm our set up for the dial is decided, our starting point will be from the centre of the material. Its going to be a big clock as the LED's I have left over from previous word clock projects are 60 LEDS per mtr but should space out reasonably well.Īrduino based LED's will be controlled by a Wemos D1 and it will be NTP time, no messing when it comes to daylight saving time etc(UK here)įor the clock dial and body I have some MDF off-cuts 6 and 15mm We would need to make provision for both the Quartz movement and the Electronics. LED ring clocks have the seconds counting by continuously so the design would need 60 holes, and also some way of isolating the LED's to stop spillage. ![]() With the grey matter on overtime I finally came up with a plan, I would not only make the clock an LED Ring clock, I would also make it Analogue in 2 ways, the first way would be to have a standard clock dial with the digits cut out as with a standard analogue clock dial, in theory the LED's should light up the corresponding time digits with the seconds counting around the perimeter, the 2nd analogue part would be installing a quartz movement. ![]() I was thinking of a design as I've always wanted to build one, but a design with a twist! I would like it be different to the other clocks I've seen. I've seen a few of these LED style Round/ ring clocks on Youtube etc, you know the ones, a ring of LED's which has the coloured LED's which resemble the hour, minutes and seconds, corresponding to the correct time etc. Grow up grow up11/8/2023 ![]() Sporchids give you quick altitude gains of up to around 400m. Houdini death form wife11/8/2023 Just as his death-defying escapology stunts have him, and his wife Bess, on the cusp of a career-defining. Houdini had a standing $10,000 challenge (which was never won) for anyone who could produce any spirit manifestation that he could not prove was a fake. Harry Houdini is the worlds greatest entertainer. However, with 30 years of experience and investigation of trickery, he was able to see beyond what a layperson might. He performed card tricks and was very competent with a deck of cards, but ultimately discovered the public’s thirst for his death-defying stunts freeing. At the end of the sance, Bess Houdini said it was her 'personal and positive belief that spirit communication in any form is not possible. Harry Houdini, born Erich Weiss, before becoming famous for escapology escaping from shackles, straight-jackets, prisons, etc., had billed himself as the King of Kards (playing cards). These were "presided over by well-known mediums in France and England." He also spent a great deal of time with prominent Spiritualists. Houdini attended 100 séances as part of his investigation. Long after Houdinis death, people have loved his magic shows and have been. He even wrote a best-selling book titled A Magician Among the Spirits that detailed the various ways unsuspecting people were deceived. After the performance, Houdini checked into his hotel. They form a magic act called The Brothers Houdini. While he "wanted to believe that such communication was possible," he'd spent so many years as a magician, he knew how charlatans managed to fool people with various methods to convince them they were speaking with the dead, especially during séances. Harry Houdini sounds so much better to me. He was especially interested in the "ability to communicate with the dead." Although I should say that my husbands real name is Ehric Weiss. According to the biography written by the Appleton Public Library (APL) staff, Houdini had an "early interest in spiritualism" that was rekindled when his mother died. Sheffield purchased a book with the name and address of every grocery store in America. All consumer propane cylinders should be stored vertically upright in all circumstances. In short, be sure the relief valve is communicating with the vapor space of the tank. If cylinders are stored improperly, such as on their side with the relief valve in contact with propane liquid and the safety relief valve opens for any reason, liquid will be escaping instead of vapor posing a much greater danger. Regarding the cylinder relief valve, it is important to keep the safety relief valve pointed away from anything that escaping propane could come in contact with possibly causing a fire or accident. Cylinders that are stored vertically upright will have the relief valve communicating with vapor space. Propane cylinders should always be positioned so that the relief valve is in direct communication with the vapor space of the container. It is recommended that a propane bottle be stored outside on a firm surface and away from any source of ignition. Storing any propane container indoors is not advisable. Cylinders that are stored in places that such as damp grass or mud risk exposing the cylinder to conditions that may cause rust and/or pitting that may render the cylinder useless. Without talking to someone who's actually created one of these things, this is all pure speculation. The gas doesn't have to pass through the reed, although the air from the bag does. If you tapped the gas source into the drone above the reed, it wouldn't be affected by the flame at all. Now, what about the reed or double reed? Reeds are usually at the end of the instrument where the air is blown in in a bagpipe drone, that's inside the bag. ![]() Also, if the flame only lasts for a second or two (and I didn't see any that lasted much longer than that), it probably won't affect the wood of the drone at all and, of course, the flame will go away the instant the gas flow stops. My consultant pointed out that the flow of gas up the tube, before ignition, would cool the area somewhat. It would have to have a jet poking up inside the drone, and some kind of spark arrangement on the jet to light it finally it would have to have either one or two switches the player could use to control the gas flow and the spark (separately or together). We both agreed that anyone doing this has to put some kind of gas source (The Crucible uses propane) inside the bag. I regret that I didn't think to ask his name he was an older man with a white beard, wearing a hat, sitting next to the booth. I dropped in at their booth and posed my question, and learned some very interesting things from a man there. Now, one group which is always at the Mini Maker Faire is The Crucible, an Oakland non-profit specializing in art production involving fire. I asked the guy about the bagpipes, but he said no, he didn't know anything about flaming bagpipes. Mini Maker Faires usually have flame-throwers somewhere this one had a guy (from Sheet Metal Alchemist) with a tower of flamethrowers you could set them off by swinging a mallet at a lever, just like the old "ring the bell" carny act, except this one produces a huge burst of flame in the air above you. I spent part of last weekend at the East Bay Mini Maker Faire in Oakland, California. This leaves a huge question in my mind: how the devil do you blow a huge blast of flame through a wooden reed or double reed instrument without incinerating the whole boiling, and the bagpiper too? And yet both of these bagpipers continued to play while intermittently shooting bursts of flame out of the drones. This explains a lot about the way bagpipes sound, actually. And I definitely learned from Wikipedia that bagpipe drones are either reed instruments (like a clarinet) or double-reed instruments (like an oboe). But to the best of my knowledge, the chanter (the one the piper fingers) and the drones are made of wood, although Wikipedia doesn't confirm this directly. Now, I like bagpipes, a taste I inherited from my mother not everyone does. You can find more videos, if you're interested, by searching for "flaming bagpipes" on YouTube. Unicycling Darth Vader Upgrades to Flaming Bagpipes Drones are the pipes which stick out of the bags and produce a single tone each. Over the last couple of months I've seen two short videos posted on Facebook, in which bagpipe players, playing their instruments, caused bursts of flame to come out of the drones. Northgard expeditions11/7/2023 Keep your warchief alive and do reach there before year two to get two secret mission done, while another one was take out two outpost, you can do that later on with normal or hard difficulty. Ignore the outpost, scout west and south until you reach the enemy land, before you attack, you should attack from the West, that area got tower close to the border where you can take it out faster, then rush to the enemy warchief to end the mission. Put one for mine then the healer, you need them all three, as sometime later you get enough silver, upgrade your healer (they will get food 50% more and heal faster), then upgrade your shield bearer, this is the best unit in this mission, because enemy do have a towers and axe thrower all over the place while shield bearer can take a lot of damage too. Why? You need reserve wood for the winter, you need silver for upgrade, medic so your healer can get the food, ration reduce the food consumption of your units. Now for the tech/lore only go for the first one, Wood > Mine > Medic > Ration. Focus on scout in the South West, this is the best way to reach there and put another scout in the area next to the wood (South East), this is for the wolf den/cave where you kill them for food. Next, scout, you need two of them, one for the way to the enemy town and one for the wolf den/cave (For food).
